Experimental Art with Saule Piktys

ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

For every level of artist! We will focus on one experiment every Tuesday over the 52-week duration of the workshop. Learn and practice with your favorite materials and work with the medium of your choice.

Originality, innovation and an inner vision help you discover how to widen your scope, sharpen your skills and venture into exciting and unfamiliar creative territory.

We will experiment in composition, concept, convey a mood and practice techniques. The series will help you find new directions, perfect your craft, loosen-up, and encourage you to ask questions.

I will provide color illustrations by outstanding contemporary painters and written hand-outs on exercises that you can practice at home.

ABOUT THIS ARTIST-INSTRUCTOR

Saule Piktys currently lives and works in Santa Monica, California. A fifth-generation artist, she was born and raised in Lithuania where she received her Master's in Architecture and Fine Art from Vilnius Academy of Art in 1989.   Her work is in public and private collections.  She worked as a background artist for the animation, scenic, and graphic departments for nearly all of the major studios, including CBS, FOX, NBC, Paramount, Sony, and WB Productions. Saule is a member of the Art Directors Guild.

Saule has exhibited in numerous galleries internationally and is currently exhibiting at the Hammer at UCLA and at the Barnsdall Art Center, Hollywood.

FAQs

Is there an age limit to enter the class?

Yes, these classes are for adults and young adults over the age of 16.  We do offer classes for children under the age of 16.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the class?

We offer free lot and street parking.  Be sure to check the street cleaning dates and times.  There is lots of local parking available.  We are two blocks East of the new Sherman Oaks Busway Terminal.

Is my registration transferrable?

Yes, as long as it is to another person over the age of 16.

What is the refund policy?

If you cancel prior to the 48-hour cutoff before the class start date you will receive a 100% refund minus a $10 administration fee.  if you cancel within 48 hours of the class start date, you will receive a credit toward any other class or workshop on our calendar within one year. 

If a class or workshop is cancelled by L.A. Creative Workshops at any time and for any reason, you will receive a full 100% refund.

REFERRAL PROGRAM

L.A. Creative Workshops offers a referral bonus program.  For every person you refer who signs up and completes a class, LACW will credit your account toward future classes or materials fees.  There is no limit to the number of people you can refer.

• You earn $1.00 for every $15.00 spent; If your friend's workshop costs $55, you will receive $3.66 toward a future class tuition or materials fee.
• Bonus points may be transferred to another person if requested in writing.
• Bonus points expire one year after the date they were credited to your account.
• You may only refer the same person one time and you will only receive bonus credit for the first purchase made by that person.
• Referred person may not have previously attended workshops or classes at LACW.
